This is a great opportunity for a passionate communications professional to drive and execute the public relations programme across multiple territories in EMEA. Akamai is searching for a highly motivated and creative communications expert to join its international communications team. The ideal candidate will be a PR specialist with knowledge of either the technology or media industry – but experience in internal communications would also be a bonus. This person will have experience of managing PR agencies, as well as excellent written and oral communications abilities. The successful applicant will work closely alongside the EMEA Director of Communications to scope and devise the EMEA PR strategy and to implement the programme, in addition to driving some other aspects of the wider communications campaigns. This could be a great opportunity for someone who wanted to step up from a UK, to an EMEA role or for a PR specialist who wants to branch out more into internal and executive communications.

About the Team

The candidate will be joining the International Communications team, which is part of the broader Communications, Public Relations, and Analyst Relations team (residing within the CMO organization). The successful candidate will report to the EMEA Director of Communications and work alongside an EMEA AR specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and execute the PR programme in EMEA

  • Manage the EMEA agency network (currently comprising eightagencies)

  • Support the delivery of the executive communications programme forthe EMEA MD including internal communications activities

  • Provide local support for global communications team initiatives

Basic Qualifications

  • BAin Communications/PR/Journalism/English (or equivalent)

  • Experience in PR/communications

  • Excellentwritten and oral communications skills

  • Abilityto create compelling content for internal and external audiences

  • Experienceof promoting a company in the IT, media or security space

  • Experienceworking with C-Level Executives on their communications activities

  • Experienceworking on a communications team

  • Experiencecollaborating with technologists and engineers

  • Drivento do great work, wear multiple hats, and have fun while doing it

  • Basicability to film and edit content

  • Familiaritywith intranet skills
