Working on a part time contractual capacity, this contract role will report directly into one of the Senior HR Business Partners and will work collaboratively with the business leaders in the UK to provide generalist HR support over a 32 hour working week.

This role requires a solid background in UK employment law, project & change management, and the ability to be flexible by acting as a partner to the business as well as providing a tactical/operational HR service to the client group. The role will be responsible for partnering with the local business leaders, managing any employee relations issues, liaising with employment bodies as needed and ensuring compliance with local HR regulatory requirements. It is also responsible for the implementation of all HR processes and programs across respective countries. These include partnering with our internal compensation team on compensation planning and program implementation, and assisting in the review of and managing the local administration support for local benefits.

This role is a key part of the overall EMEA HR team. The EMEA team is a blend of specialists, HR Business Partners and generalists aligned behind an overarching aim in providing the highest level of support to the business

Be the HR lead on all employee relations cases, including absence and attendance management, disciplinaries, grievances, probationary reviews and performance management.

Provide advice and coaching to managers throughout employee relations cases, attend formal hearings and draft PIPs and outcomes letters as required.

Advise on absence management cases, including leading on long term-sickness cases, occupational health referrals, welfare meetings, phased returns and any reasonable adjustments needed.

  • Lead information and consultation processes as required.

  • Advise and guide employees and managers on all family friendly policies for the business, including maternity, paternity, parental, shared parental and flexible working. Keep such policies up-to-date in line with legislation.

  • Support and advise managers on the recruitment, induction and retention of appropriately skilled and expert staff to meet business needs.

  • Partner with Line Managers to ensure full compliance with HR, legal, company requirements and HR policies and procedures.

  • Ensure all employee relations issues are dealt with in a proactive and effective manner, partnering with Line Managers. This includes conducting disciplinary meetings, termination meetings, reporting work accidents and dealing with employee representatives where applicable

  • Provide reliable and trusted advice in relation to employment legislation. Liaise with in internal employment counsel and external legal advisors where appropriate and within budget as approved HR leadership in EMEA.

  • Actively drive employee engagement activities.

  • Identify and assess HR issues which need to be brought to the attention of the rest of the HR team, and act upon as necessary.

  • Partner with the Global Mobility team to provide advice on immigration and visa queries as appropriate

  • Work collaboratively with key internal partners across a number of countries; TA, Compensation & Benefits, Legal, Payroll team etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • A very strong working knowledge of current UK employment law and best practice.

  • A strong track record of generalist HR experience, supporting remote teams and remote line managers as well as local stakeholders.

  • Solid experience working in a high-tech company, including experience working within a U.S. based company.

  • Experience of working on employee matters in other countries would be beneficial.

  • Proven involvement in driving local implementation of compensation and benefits programs as well as recruiting.

  • Highly skilled with technology tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc) for developing and providing HR tools to the country leadership.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural organization.

  • Tolerant to ambiguity and ongoing change

  • Excellent communication, consulting, influencing and presentation skills.

  • Strong team player across HR and with the business.

  • Undergraduate degree required or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in related field preferred.
