Security Technical Project Managers are part of the Akamai Professional Services team and work directly with clients to deliver Akamai's web and network security solutions. You will be involved with projects from design through implementation, testing and customer sign-off. You will work independently or within a small technical team in delivering the appropriate solution to Akamai's enterprise customers. You will plan, implement, test, and deploy Akamai platform security configurations to integrate with customer web sites, and develop and execute test cases and scripts for customer solutions. You will participate in internal projects that help scale the group, implement best practices, and improve our methodology and quality of integrations.
In addition, you will act as the primary point of contact for your customers responsible for collecting product feedback and delivering security service reviews and reports that demonstrate Akamai’s value. You will be an escalation contact for all security-related service issues and will be expected to act as a consultant available to assist in developing a long-term web application security strategy.
As a Managed Security Advocate, act as primary point of contact responsible for managing security-related projects, presenting product feedback to engineering, and delivering to customers service reviews and reports that demonstrate Akamai’s value.
Perform basic technical implementation tasks for security products, such as customer security configuration updates.
Participate in full customer lifecycle, from pre-sales, through implementation to post-implementation support.
Work closely with members of Professional Services, Sales, the Security Operations Center, Technical Support, Product Management, and Engineering to resolve customer concerns.
Act as a consultant to assist customers with developing a long-term web application and data center security strategy.
Identify new potential product features and additional sales opportunities, and engage Product Management and Sales team with feedback.
Engage in internal projects that help scale the group, implement best practices, and improve methodologies.
Must be willing to travel 10-25%.

Required Education and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, another related field or its equivalent or
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or another related field.
Minimum 3 years of project lead or project management experience working on and managing enterprise scale projects.
Minimum 3 years of experience in technical consulting, and/or other customer facing role consulting on, delivering technical products or services.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Internet technologies, standards and protocols, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Web architecture and design.
General exposure to security technologies, processes, and concepts such as web application security (i.e. SQL injection, XSS, and command injection attack vectors), network security (i.e. DNS amplification and reflection attack vectors), PKI, SSL, firewalls, NIST 800-53, FIPS-140-2, Authentication & Authorization, Client Certificates, OCSP, etc. a plus.
Professional certification in information security (i.e. CISSP, CEH, GWAPT, or CISA) is desired.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Enthusiastic, action oriented, capable of independently solving complex technical problems and able to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and business audiences.
Possess excellent technical aptitude and a desire to learn constantly.
Implementation experience with web delivery technologies or other IT systems delivery.
Experience with the impacts of Content Delivery and Distributed Computing within business and technical organizations.
Experience with data processing, Real Time Reporting and Analytics a plus.
Proven track record of successfully delivering projects for Fortune 500 customers.
