Overview:

Akamai is a rapidly growing company expanding its business in new markets both domestically and internationally. Akamai’s Sales Operations team is a collaborative, results-driven, cross functional team that is focused on partnering with our top-notch Sales and go-to-market teams to enable, enhance and improve every facet of their execution and productivity – ranging from strategic planning, sales, services, and marketing analytics, sales process and selling methodology, performance reporting, administration of CRM systems, budgeting, as well as new hire on-boarding and the ongoing sales training, education, and development of our existing sales team.

As a Sales Operations Analyst you will be responsible for:

  • Participate in Sales forecast calls, track orders, and pipeline, and work with and communicate with all levels of Sales and Finance to forecast revenue.

  • Ensure effective data management and reporting on key metrics for the Digital Performance and Pre-Sales teams providing analysis of data to Sales Management on a weekly basis.

  • Create reporting and analyze data for patterns; leading to investigating challenges and/or opportunities to work with leadership to address them.

  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly commission processing with Akamai Compensation team

  • Communicate effectively with business resources in a timely manner.

  • Exhibit superior verbal and written communication skills with all levels of management, and key business partners.

  • Work closely with internal customers to understand current and future business needs and strategy.

  • Exhibit the ability to take initiative, work with minimal daily direction, and prioritize time effectively to deliver in a timely manner.

  • Identify and analyze any needs and trends requiring special attention

Sales Enablement:

  • Partner with Akamai’s Sales Enablement and Program Management teams to develop, deliver, and maintain operational training of sales systems and processes for our Sales new hire on-boarding program

  • Partner with Akamai’s Tools & Reporting team to implement and leverage sales enabling platforms/tools. Monitor the sales organization’s compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data

  • Maintain reporting and business cadence to proactively inspect and manage Akamai sales, driving the pace of the business and go-to-market efforts to meet critical KPIs in terms of bookings, revenue, and opportunity pipeline

  • Leverage Salesforce.com to provide analytics on deal commitments and pipeline, and post-sale reporting of bookings data and performance against plan

Cross Functional Leadership:

  • Liaise with members of the Sales, Marketing, Services, Finance, and Product teams

  • Provide analytical and reporting support for Sales and Pre-Sales team activities (pipeline reporting)

  • Provide analytical and reporting support for sales leadership quarterly business objectives

About the Team:

The Sales Operations Analyst will be a key member of the Web Sales Operations team and provide support for the global specialist sales organizations. The role is based in Cambridge and the person will report to the Manager of Sales Operations for our Web Specialist Teams. As a member of the team, the Sales Operations Analyst will be in the forefront of sales metrics and analytics environment. This individual will also partner with the digital performance management and pre-sales leadership team globally (Americas, EMEA and APJ).

Required Education and Experience:

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements

  • 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management or its equivalent or

  • Relevant experience and a Master’s degree or PhD

Required Skills:

  • 2 years of Sales Ops, Finance, Business Ops or its equivalent experience

  • 2 years advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required for managing/presenting data.

  • 1+ years end user experience with a CRM tool; preferably Salesforce.com

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a Finance or Operations role interfacing with Sales teams

  • Strong business-partnering skills with Senior Sales management

  • Experience in the high-tech industry a plus

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a broad audience; including technical and non-technically driven functions.

  • Results driven.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities with an ability to provide data-backed analysis.

  • Experience with Anaplan and/or ABI is a plus
