The Sales Operations Analyst will provide support to the Commerce Sales organization. Reporting to the Manager of Commerce and Financial Services Sales Operations, we are seeking an energetic, multi-tasking, and creative individual to support our sales organization headquartered out of Cambridge, MA. As a member of the team, the Sales Operations Analyst will be in the forefront of sales metrics and analytics environment. This individual will collaborate with, not only the Web Americas Sales Operations team, the V.P. of Commerce Sales and Management Team to determine key reporting needs. As a Sales Operations Analyst you will be responsible for:

Sales Operations:

  • Ensure effective data management and accurate reporting on key metrics for the Commerce team by providing analysis of data to Sales Management on a weekly basis

  • Assists Sales Operations Manager in understanding sales deficiencies, process bottlenecks and performance inconsistencies within the Commerce industry through reporting and analytics

  • Participate in Sales forecast calls, prep pipeline reports and decks, coordinate renewals calls, and provide revenue updates to the Commerce Sales Management team

  • Assist in the development and deployment of sales targets and quotas by territory

  • Provide analytics in the development of sales territories and deployment of Account Executives

  • Exhibit superior verbal and written communication skills with all levels of management, and key business partners

  • Communicate effectively with business resources in a timely manner

  • Exhibit the ability to take initiative, work with minimal daily direction, and prioritize time effectively to deliver in a timely manner

Sales Enablement:

  • Partner with Akamai’s Sales Enablement and Program Management teams to develop, deliver, and maintain operational training of sales systems and processes for our Sales new hire on-boarding program

  • Partner with Akamai’s Tools & Reporting team to implement and leverage sales enabling platforms/tools. Monitor the sales organization’s compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data

  • Maintain reporting and business cadence to proactively inspect and manage Akamai sales, driving the pace of the business and go-to-market efforts to meet critical KPIs in terms of bookings, revenue, and opportunity pipeline

  • Leverage Salesforce.com to provide analytics on deal commitments and pipeline, and post-sale reporting of bookings data and performance against plan

Cross Functional Leadership:

  • Liaise with members of the Sales, Marketing, Services, Finance, and Product teams

  • Provide analytical and reporting support for Commerce team activities (pipeline reporting)

  • Provide analytical and reporting support for sales leadership quarterly business objectives

Required Education and Experience:

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements

  • 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management or its equivalent or

Required Skills:

  • 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management or its equivalent

  • 2 years advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required for managing/presenting data

  • 1+ years end user experience with a CRM tool; preferably Salesforce.com

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a Finance or Operations role interfacing with Sales teams

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities with an ability to provide data-backed analysis

  • Strong business-partnering skills with Senior Sales management

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a broad audience; including technical and non-technically driven functions

  • Experience with Anaplan and/or Oracle Business Intelligence

  • Experience in the high-tech industry a plus
