Akamai is looking for a Senior Manager, Product Operations to join the Buy Akamai program team. This role is responsible for working with business and functional leaders within the organization to execute on transformational projects aimed at achieving the strategic and financial objectives of the business and preparing the business for future. The role will develop the processes, organizational changes, and policy recommendations required to achieve defined business outcomes. This role calls for someone with good leadership, organizational agility, deep analytical skills, strong communication skills, and a “get it done” approach to work.

As a Senior Manager of Product Operations you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing issues and formulating improvement strategies including future state processes, organization structures, and policies.

  • Providing proactive and engaged leadership on key projects designed to increase revenue, reduce expenses, enhance business efficiency, and improve customer experience.

  • Acting as an effective change agent utilizing proper stakeholder analysis and change management techniques.

  • Working with CIO, Program and Business Function leadership to provide effective leadership for the initiatives under analysis and execution.

  • Proactively anticipating and working towards mitigating risks to project execution or stakeholder engagement.

  • Providing senior leadership and function management with updates on project status, key metrics, issues, and risks.

  • Understanding and analyzing various drivers impacting key metrics and outcomes and provide a fact-based recommendation to the stakeholders.

  • Collaborating with business groups on projects that have a multi-organization or business unit scope.

  • Facilitating team meetings and cross-functional workshops.

  • Leading hypothesis identification, scope definition, and execution of operational business transformation experiments leading to measurable business impact and process Improvement.

  • Conducting analyses needed to prove or disprove hypotheses driving project execution.

  • Supporting others by providing real-time coaching on business transformation and process improvement methodologies and tools.

About the Team

The CIO organization’s mission is to provide reliable, secure and cost effective technology assets and business solutions to empower our employees, customers, and other stakeholders with information and tools for them to be innovative, productive, and efficient. Product Operations manages, coordinates and delivers key cross-organizational Strategic Programs. This includes the program definition, prioritization, planning processes, business metrics, and ongoing delivery for these initiatives.

Required Education and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or its equivalent or

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or another related field.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of operations and strategic program management experience desired.

  • 5+ years of product management experience with a track record of delivering software development roadmap on time.

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience. Proven track record of successfully managing and leading cross functional teams in a matrix management environment.

Desired Skills

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with demonstrated ability to work with large amounts of data and identify trends, key areas for improvement and ways to measure progress against targets.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to work with external customers, internal functional business leaders, and senior management.

  • Highly metrics and results-oriented, with a proven capacity to deliver in a fast-paced and matrixed organization.
