Akamai is looking for a SQA Engineer with a minimum of 3 years testing and automation experience combined with the skills and passion to help build system-level test automation and execute automated and manual tests for some of Akamai’s most interesting and complex technologies. You will be on a team responsible for testing the performance, reliability, scalability, security, and functionality of Akamai's system monitoring and management technologies. These systems support and operate behind the scenes to provide the fault-tolerant and highly scalable core of Akamai’s configuration and health monitoring systems.

Responsibilities:


Develop test coverage for network software applications


Ensure that system and software under test meet product design/specifications


Perform full SQA cycle for software releases in a fast-pace environment. This includes, but is not limited to, gathering specs, developing test plans, running automated and manual tests as needed, and analyzing test results


Perform technical risk assessment and contribute to decisions related to release readiness and schedules


Continuously improve testing methodologies, procedures and environment


Continuously develop and enhance automated test suites to improve efficiency


Maintain our large-scale, distributed test environment


Regularly review and improve test coverage

Aboutthe Team:

The Platform Quality Assurance group is responsible for extensive testing across multiple technologies and systems developed at Akamai. This group is focused on integrating these technologies and focusing on real-world, end-to-end testing to ensure all of Akamai's systems integrate and deploy to Akamai’s Platform.

Required Education and Experience:

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:

  • 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree equivalent or

  • Relevant experience and a Master’s degree or PhD or

  • Relevant Professional Experience

BasicQualifications:


Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field

  • 2years of experience developing or testing network software applications

  • 2years of experience using databases and SQL commands

  • 2years of experience developing automation in Python, Perl, Java or C+* 2years of experience working in Linux/Unix environment

Desired Qualifications:


Experience with testing very large scale, distributed systems, including networking


Experience with test frameworks, such as pytest


Familiarity with continuous integration systems (such as, Jenkins)


Familiarity with test tools (such as, Selenium)


Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail


Willingness and flexibility to switch between multiple high priority assignments


Excellent verbal and written communications skills


Highly driven, positive attitude, self-motivated and team player
