The Akamai Developer program is making the internet awesome for developers. The Akamai Developer Marketing team is looking for an individual to own and execute programs that engage DevOps specialists to help them automate, monitor, and integrate Akamai into the existing environment. A deep understanding of DevOps is key to creating effective programs and communications that resonate with this audience. In this role, you will be on point to lead projects from inception to completion working with cross-functional teams across different geographies. You will manage multiple projects in parallel against aggressive deadlines. You will partner closely with Developer Evangelists to bring technical programs to life and other marketers to scale out reach. Adaptability and agility are required in this exciting and fast-paced environment.
Develop core messaging and positioning for the DevOps audience
Own the DevOps content on http://developer.akamai.com
Manage contributing author relationships both internally and externally
Interface with outside vendors including creative and technical agencies
Support PR and social and manage relationships with third-party publishers
Manage developer previews and launches requirements
Provide feedback to the product team
Required Experience and Skills
Education: Bachelor degree required. BS in Computer Science, Marketing or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of developer marketing, product marketing or evangelism experience
Minimum 3 years experience with running campaigns
Minimum 3 years experience working with open source community
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Clear understanding of the DevOps audience
Flexible, creative, self-starter and comfortable with change and risk-taking.
Methodical and organized: able to manage multiple projects, opportunities, and priorities concurrently
Ability to prioritize and plan effectively around timelines
High energy, enthusiasm, and passion for building valuable resource collections, successful communities, and effective programs
Understanding of development languages, capabilities and limitations is a plus.
