About the Job

The Industry Analyst in Akamai’s Media Division is responsible for identifying and owning a key vertical for Akamai’s media business, and developing deep expertise about the needs and concerns of that vertical. This expertise will be critical to our three goals:

  • Identify the right industries to pursue (looking 18 months into the future)

  • Identify, within our chosen industries, the right companies to pursue

  • Define for Akamai the right messaging and product strategy for our selected targets

The work will be ongoing, and constantly evolving, which means you need to be curious and flexible. The industry marketing manager creates the industry marketing strategy, coordinates a variety of matrixed marketing execution resources to carry out the plan, and ensures that our sales teams understand the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Support Media Industry team with in depth qualitative and quantitative analysis to effectively position Akamai solutions and win new opportunities.

  • Analyze market trends and competition to support Media business unit’s Go-to-market strategy.

  • Support research on regulatory matters, competition and partnership opportunities.

  • Develop key messages and presentations for external facing content, conferences and customer workshops.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a relevant field, preferably in Media and Entertainment industry.

  • University Degree in Finance, Economics, Business or IT.

  • Proficient in market research techniques, tools and sources.

  • Strong presentation and data management/visualization skills.

  • Strong team-player: highly responsive and excellent communicator.

  • High quality and clarity of analysis and recommendations.

  • Excellent command of spoken & written business English, Asian languages considered a plus.
